"Best of" show - Back in the Game « Result #1 on Dec 8, 2009, 10:40am »
It's obvious that I've been slipping in my reviews in the last few months. Part of that has to do with some personal issues I've been dealing with lately. No more.
This is the big one, the show that displays the best that Farce Side has to offer. No way am I missing this one.
"Recycling" Definitely a favorite of mine. I still got that "is this for real" vibe from this one in terms of the characters ‘cause they were so inept. Score: 8.75 out of 10.
"World Series of Masturbation" Do another "World Series of..." sketch next year, please, as long as it's something different. We could use more outrageous comedy like this. Score: 9.5 out of 10.
"Cool improv dad" I'm remembering to a few years back, and there was this guy named Mike Makings. His style was quite similar to Michael Margetis, but there's a big difference between them. Makings didn't have the chops that Margetis does. Score: 8.5 out of 10.
“Brobot 5000” Score: 8.75 out of 10.
"Human Furniture Store" I'll admit, this isn't my favorite sketch, but I do give credit for the concept, which was unique. It had good use of physical comedy too. Score: 7.5 out of 10.
“Yoplait you play” Score: 9.0 out of 10.
"Doctor visit" I loved the surreal comedy here. A woman is diagnosed as a huge bitch. I adored the concept. It didn't make any sense, but it was still a good one. Score: 9.0 out of 10.
"Parents just don't understand" Once again I just that "is this for real" vibe. The obnoxious parents ruin their daughter's performance in Romeo and Juliet. Good idea, but I felt that they forced it. Score: 7.5 out of 10.
"Wedding pictures" A PowerPoint slideshow of pictures turns ugly for a married couple. More unbelievable laughs. There were some cringing moments here. Score: 8.75 out of 10.
"Zombie rap" Having seen Zombieland only made this one funnier! Sam, Connor, and Brian killed it, figuratively speaking of course. Easily the best sketch of the show! Score: 10 out of 10.
If I didn’t actually comment on any of the sketches, it’s because I simply couldn’t the right words.
I'm sure it wasn't easy for Farce Side to rebound after suffering such a major loss last May, but they did. To all the new guys on the cast, I hope to see you again next year.

For a new maple mesos player has just entered the game spend. First of all, realize the mesos is useful to the each new player. You only play with others and cheap mesos can get happy from the game. After learned at the game world, you may found the maplestory mesos and the most basic survival skills. However, maple story mesos can also save a lot your time.

Hello! Thanks! TJ & Dave! « Result #9 on Nov 17, 2009, 2:57pm »
Hey, all!
What's going on?
Just wanted to stop in and say hello.
I got to catch up with a lot of folks at the Marvin's Room / Nathan Bedford Forrest (a name that I will never forget) Cagematch show.
Thanks all for your continued support and the fun shows!
One thing I did want to mention is a screening of "Trust Us, This is All Made Up" at the Phoenix Art Museum that The Torch Theatre is sponsoring.
TJ Jagodowski and Dave Pasquesi are pretty amazing improvisors from Chicago. In addition to their weekly two-person show at IO Chicago, they perform about once a month in New York City. Trust Us is a documentary that followed them around New York and that captured their show.
I did an online test screening of the film and it's pretty sweet and is highly recommended.
It's screening on Sunday, November 29th @ 1pm for free. So, if you're stuck in town or tired of family stuff on that Thanksgiving weekend, you have something awesome to do!
The Phoenix Art Museum is at the Central / McDowell lightrail stop, so it's pretty easy to get to.

11/6/2009 review - Run This Town « Result #10 on Nov 16, 2009, 1:16am »
I'm not sure what's going on with me lately. Usually I'm so consistent with these reviews.
"New face of recycling" The entire time, I was looking at the characters and thought, "are these guys for real?" That wasn't a bad thing in this case. I think the sketch, while slightly forced, was alright.
"Law & Order: Grammar Police Unit" As someone who's a fan of Law & Order, I enjoyed this one. What I liked most about it was the satire.
"Cholo Brown" Okay, now everyone knows I try to stay as positive as I can, except I had a problem with this one. I know that it was supposed to make fun of Charlie Brown, but I thought that it was overcompensating when they added the whole "cholo" thing into it. Woodstock dying, nice touch though.
"My suicide ledge" Given that this one involved suicide, you could say that it had some dark humor. Loved the ironic ending.
Here's what I do like about the shows lately. It appears that all the new guys have found their footing, and the content is not only distinctive, but smarter too.
