While this one had its ups and downs, the February 13 show was a marked improvement over last week's, actually featuring all of the cast. Given that Farce Side has five new guys this year, it's important for them to get out there and show us what they got.
"That 1 song"
It's happened to me many times. I hear a song that gets stuck in my head and I just can't nail it. Personally I liked it. Every time it looked like someone was gonna remember it, it just kept dragging on.
"Logging out"
I hate to say it, especially since I try to be as positive as I can, but I wasn't really impressed with this one, and this is not a stab towards Danny Vega. My attention drifted in and out during the latter half of the scene, and that's rare even though I've been around for 7 years. Maybe it was the characters, or the content, but this was one of the weakest offerings we've seen lately.
"Quid Pro Bro"
At first I thought it was Nick Zautra who wrote this one, since he was the only guy in the sketch that didn't have his shirt off, but as I have just learned, it was Brian Rhoads.
Nick wearing that robe was done so he use his Jedi powers, which made this one stand out as one of the better sketches in the show. The floating 24-pack, priceless!
"Hallmark cards"
Brian Rhoads, you never should've left. These scenes are some of the best comedy I've ever seen. We all knew how the final scene, and by extenstion the payoff was gonna turnout, but as long as the delivery kicks ass, it doesn't matter.
I'll say it again, this week's offering managed to outpace the 2/6/2009 show, but the "News" did not. I'm not slamming Audrey and Stacey, but this is a feeling I've been having before they started doing the news. I've usually found the News to be one of the funniest, if not the most hilarious part of a Farce Side show, but lately I have not been getting that feeling.
My final score is 8.9 out of 10.
