It's official. I've been a fan for eight years.
While I did like the April 2 show, the biggest problem I had with it was its pace. At times I felt like the show was dragging its feet. I'm not slamming the content, but the pace was off.
"A Tale of Two Mimes"
I think back to the Buffy the Vampire Slayer ep "Hush", which spent approximately half the episode with no dialogue. That, plus this sketch, proves that you don't always need words to make something good. Thank you Connor and Stephanie.
"Baby Express"
Upon seeing all three scenes, I thought, "did they really go there?" The third scene saw it turn into a teenage express.
By now, I'm used to Farce Side taking this kind of risk.
"Everybody Plays the Fool Part 2"
For those of you who saw the closing sketch of the March 26 Farce Side, you know what this on entailed.
Picking up from last week, Danny's character runs out of tears, but Sam's character hooks up with his friend's ex, and we are treated to Mike Margetis pulling an Eddie Murphy and playing multiple characters in the same scene. I gotta give mad props to Sam and Mike on this one.
There was no singing, but I will give you credit for doing a sequel.
"The ripoffs"
Now, think of Miley Cyrus/Hannah Montana, Bill Gates, and Haley Joel Osment. Now picture a family ripping them off.
I think this sketch had a great concept, but here is where the pace of the show suffered. It felt like it was too long, as if it was dragging.
A few final notes. I feel that Ryan has really come into his own on this show, and Jamie pulled off her best showing in the "Kayaking" sketch.
Sadly, Farce Side has fallen short of that elusive 10 rating, but that doesn't mean it's out of reach.
My final score is 9.0 out of 10.
