First, I apologize for waiting two months to write this. This doesn't normally happen with "Best of" reviews. It's here now, so enjoy.
“Prayer-athon”
I’m very certain this is the second time during the last 9 years that the “Radio ad” gimmick has been used, and I’m glad for that. It shouldn’t be used often, because then it would get stale. I would like to hear it again, and Sam did a good job with the announcer voice. Score: 8.5 out of 10.
“Bud Light Lime”
Score: 8.0 out of 10.
“Alone at the movies”
This is one reason why I wish Tom didn’t have to depart Farce Side. It takes a lot to have to successfully pull this off by yourself. Score: 9 out of 10.
“Divorced Lawyers”
1 of 3 lawyer sketches, and it looked like it should be a show on USA Network. When you think about what that network has now, it kinda fits.
Has this been done before? Either way, it felt very original. I was glad to see this, with this being Stephanie’s last show. Score: 9 out of 10.
“Classical Pharmacology”
Score: 8.75 out of 10.
“Sun Card”
Of course using a projector was necessary for this sketch, and it was a good one. I’m glad that Farce Side doesn’t use projectors too often, given all the mishaps that have happened in the past. Score: 8.75 out of 10.
“Dinner with Zarflax”
Oh Ryan, I wonder what it was in your twisted mind that inspired this. Score: 9 out of 10.
“Ikea”
Throwing a good swerve never gets old, but I don’t like this kind of sketch during a comedy show. Score: 7.0 out of 10.
“Seskell & Eggbert”
Score: 9 out of 10.
“Greg the Casual Therapist”
Worst. Therapist. Ever. Yet it was some of Danny’s best work.
Not the catchiest theme song though. Score: 9.0 out of 10.
“Lawyers”
Or as it’s better known, “You gotta have a lawyer!”
Easily my favorite, and Mike Skarsten hardly disappoints. Score: 9.5 out of 10.
As is usually the case with the “Best of” show, it was the last show for several people. Some are graduating, and some aren’t.
Ryan, I feel like you’re leaving too soon. I was amazed at your irreverent brand of humor, and I’m not sure there will be anyone that can duplicate it.
Stephanie, you’ve spent four years doing this, and I’ve seen you do it all. You’ve got that spark, much like the person who got me interested in all this 9 years ago.
Fisch, your time on Farce Side was brief, but you made it memorable, your Sun Card sketch being a great example. I wish you’d joined up sooner.
Shawn, you’re another person who’s leaving sooner than expected. Like Fisch and Ryan, you made your time matter. If there’s a reunion show, please come back.
Mike, Farce Side has had many directors, and you rank among the highest. You and Richie got two 10 ratings, and no one can take that away from you. If you can, come back to FS.
Tom, you’re also leaving ‘cause you have to, and I hope this isn’t the end for you. Thanks for bringing so much to the cast in the time you were here.
I am not done. In March 2012, I will be the first person to say that I’ve consistently been a fan for 10 years.
