I know I'm "The Farce Side critic," but with two cast members returning, and two new ones arriving, I think it's time for a sound-off.
First off, Kevin Horst, whom I've called one of the best things to happen to Farce Side, is back on Barren Mind, and so is Alex Petrusek. Who are they? For those new to the ASU Comedy scene, here's a little catch-me-up.
Kevin is quite the character. Very quick-witted, sharp, really outside-the-box in his method (which is always good), and has a strong presence of mind. This guy was made for comedy, and if you stick around long enough, he'll do his world-famous Woody Allen impression, and by world I mean ASU.
It is funny though.
Alex carries a sort of sophistication with him wherever he goes, and it can be seen, not just in the way he dresses, but also in his methods. He has a knack for being able to vibrate off the other players, and is very skilled at keeping the game alive.
As for the two new guys....
Joe appears to have that spark, but I didn't get enough of him to see what he's really made of. He did manage to pull off a good moment or two, but I think all he needs is time to find his niche in the cast.
Carly, while new, does look like she could be in the zone. She is the new girl, and I think that she needs to expose herself enough to show people what she's made of.
One last thing. As you all know, Brian Rhoads is gone from both casts, however, he's still doing what he does best. Comedy.
