Well, after much consideration, and a little persuasion of sorts, I have decided to review the Barren Mind Improv for the first time in the Fall '08 season.
The main reasons why I've been hesitating are as follows: it's a difficult show to review because improv is a unique kind of comedy, and the last time I reviewed Barren Mind, people ganged up on me. I'm hoping that won't happen again.
I've seen five different directors as a fan, and while they've all had their own style, Stacey has already set herself apart in one specific way. Improv is all about fan interaction, and she gives the fans a chance to interact beyond the norm. Thus far, she's given each week a different theme: to wear orange, to wear a "shitty shirt," and the next one is just to bring something in general as a prop.
I'm already thinking of what I should bring, but I don't really have anything I could donate as a prop.
Both Sam and Joel are the newbies to Barren Mind. Joel we all know from Farce Side, but Sam is new in every sense. I don't think they would be out there if the others didn't think they were good at improv, but we need to see them show us what makes them special. Unlike sketch comedy, where you perform according to a character written for you, improv requires you to rely more or less on your own personal style. We need to see that.
That's all for now.

I gotta agree, I really like the themed shows. Thanks for giving me a chance to wear my George W shirt. I've had that thing for 2 years and haven't been able to wear it.. Kept it for a special occasion like this.

Now that you've worn the shirt could you burn it in one of those desert bonfire things? Seriously. Needs to die

But the irony of the shirt is just so great. I had it for two years and never wore it, but the pay off was totally worth it.
