For the last eight years that I've attended Farce Side, I've seen more than anyone. There are times when I see a show that just blows me away, grosses me out, or just plain sets a new standard. So which one was this one?
"Chemo Shake"
I think this was Richie's turn to shine. How did this guy keep up all the vomiting?
These 8 years aren't easy to remember, but I'm sure Farce Side has done one or two cancer sketches.
"2001"
This was the "I can't believe they went there" sketch. You know what year it takes place. There's plenty of references to that year, even the following year. The cringing moment of this one lies in the, well, you can guess. It takes place before 'that' day.
The one quality about this show is that it constantly tests the waters. I'm surprised it went over the way it did.
"Distracted Soldiers"
I've got a friend and a family member in the military. I can't help but wonder how they would react to soldiers getting distracted by videos about cats.
I saw this twice that day, and on the second time, I had the foresight to turn away when Ryan stepped onstage coughing up blood. That was a truly gross moment, and Ryan sold it very well.
"Sex-ed at Hogwarts"
Why is it that after all these years, I still haven't seen a Harry Potter movie?
Thankfully, you don't need to be a fan to enjoy this little scene. This was some of Stephanie's best work. I was already loving the show, but this one give the entire set exactly what it needed.
This edition of Farce Side impressed, grossed-out, and made me cringe. No matter how long I've been around, it's still possible for me to be amazed. This time, I was amazed enough to do this...
My final score is 10 out of 10.
