This semester of Farce Side has been touch-and-go so far. I'm not gonna lie, it's been like a seesaw of sorts.
However, I will give credit where it's due. This particular one was daring, and I kept saying that to the people who asked. How was it so?
"Hypnotic suggestion" What happens when you get David Oney to imagine whatever you tell him to? A homoerotic fantasy that the guy didn't want.
On Barren Mind, when they ask for a relationship suggestion, they ask us to avoid the gay ones.
"Inappropriate grandma" I keep thinking back to how this one progressed, with Kristin asking the most inappropriate questions and she even went as far as to touch Stephanie near the end of the sketch. This was indeed a "cringe" sketch. Will I vote for it later?
"Anti-drug"Here is where the daring comes in. There are three parts. Skarsten is at the core of the sketch. First it was the movie Speed, then throwing grass, and finally 'crack' was the anti-drug. In regards to the last one, when I say crack, I meant in the sense that Skarsten actually pulled his pants down.
How often does Farce Side take that risk? For me, it was them going that far that gets them points.
"Inskeption" This is a mixed bag for me because I never saw Inception. I was always curious though.
It wasn't my favorite sketch, but I did enjoy the execution.
I would strongly recommend attending next week's show. Are you ready to see Farce Side's take on Halloween?
My final score is 9.25 out of 10.
