I have to admit, I debated for some time whether to post this review. I break the shows down sketch-by-sketch, and what have people done on my threads lately? Do they talk about the sketches, the cast members, or the show in general? No. Despite all the flak I've taken lately, I still want to be "The Farce Side critic."
This past show was one of the more distinct in terms of content. Each segment was unique in its own way, but there were some sketches that stood out in my mind. They are...
"Victoria's Secret"
Hmm, mind-control bras? That was something different. I was thinking "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" for a while. I was hoping for a big fight scene at the end, but Kevin just gave up.
Still good to see.
"Road Trip"
Great chemistry, great lines, and the poses, all good here.
"Answering Machine"
Hmm, what do I call this one?
This wouldn't be the first time that Farce Side has relied solely on a person's voice-acting to get the job done. Stephanie was on her own for this one, but Kyle played his part well enough, so no complaints here.
"News"
The one part that stood out the most was, of course, Stacey playing the part of Britney. I loved how she used those song lyrics as a way of conversation. She's already my favorite on Barren Mind, but she's quickly getting everyone's attention on both shows.
"Dibs"
Alison has written her share of fleshed-out sketches, but this one was something off the beaten path for her. I thought that she was channeling Mat Montgomery here - this seems like something he would do - but this was all her. This was my favorite sketch of the show.
My final score is 8.95 out of 10.
